Does StyleSeat take a commission?
Not automatically, but not never either. The subscription itself is flat. Two optional growth features carry a share on the professional's side: a one-off share of the first appointment with a new client the platform brings you, capped, with every appointment with that client afterwards free of it – and a share of bookings the platform prices at a premium for popular slots. A booking fee is also added to what the client pays. We take no share of anything and add nothing to your client's payment.
Who pays the booking fee at StyleSeat?
The client does, according to StyleSeat's own help pages, and it is non-refundable unless the professional cancels. It is worth knowing because it is part of the price your client experiences, even though it never shows up on your own invoice. Our booking page adds nothing to what your client pays.
Is Salon Wizard also for a single professional?
Yes. The solo plan carries the calendar, services with duration and price, client records, online booking around the clock and your own booking page. Some things belong to the larger plans – recurring appointments and the gallery from Solo Plus on, staff scheduling in Team. For a single professional, which is who StyleSeat is written for, the solo plan is the normal case here and not a stripped-down one.
Does Salon Wizard charge per staff member?
No. In the Team plan staff are included at no extra cost, however many there are. Only additional locations cost a fixed surcharge, and it is on the pricing page before you decide.
How does the billing model differ from StyleSeat?
Both charge a subscription, so on that line there is little to choose. The difference is what sits beside it: at StyleSeat a one-off share of a first appointment with a client the platform drives, a share of bookings the platform prices at a premium, and a booking fee on the client's side. Here the plan is the whole price. We deliberately quote no figures of theirs – those change, the model does not.
Do I lose new clients if I leave the marketplace?
The ones the search would have sent you, yes. That flow is real and it stops. What does not stop is the relationship with people who already know you – they follow an address if you give it to them, in the chair, in the confirmation mail and on your own channels.
Can I take my client data with me from StyleSeat?
Ask for the export while your account is still open. Which fields a platform releases, and in what format, is its own decision and not something we can promise for it. Records, services and opening hours you then set up here.
Does my business need a point of sale?
That depends on the country you invoice in. Ask whether your law requires a certified security device for electronic tills and from what point – in Germany that is the case for cash trade with an electronic till. Salon Wizard is deliberately not a till: we plan appointments, keep the client record and write invoices. However you take payment today, that arrangement stays.
